Healthcare Assistant – Nursing Homes (Ireland)
About the Role RecruitNet International Ltd, specialists in healthcare recruitment, are currently seeking Healthcare Assistants (HCA) to join leading nursing homes across Ireland.
This is a full-time, open-to-work opportunity for EU citizens and candidates holding Stamp 4 or Stamp 1G permissions. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
Responsibilities
You will support the nursing team in delivering comprehensive, person-centred care by:
- Assisting residents with personal hygiene, grooming, and dignity while promoting independence.
- Supporting resident mobility, protection, and comfort, including meal times and physical assistance.
- Building positive relationships through engagement, companionship, and attentive care.
- Ensuring consistency in daily activities and communication with nursing staff regarding health changes.
- Planning and participating in social/recreational activities for enhanced well-being.
- Facilitating open communication with residents and their families.
- Maintaining high hygiene standards and assisting with Housekeeping duties.
- Supporting Health & Safety protocols and complying with QQI-defined standards.
- Undertaking additional duties as assigned by the Nurse in Charge or management.

Requirements
Applicants must hold or be progressing towards:
- QQI Level 5 Healthcare qualification (or recognised equivalent).
- Previous healthcare experience (desirable, with knowledge of HIQA standards).
Key skills and attributes:
- Exceptional communication & active listening.
- Professionalism, reliability, and commitment to high-quality care.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A supportive, positive attitude.
- Fluent English (written & spoken).
