Healthcare Assistant – Nursing Homes (Ireland)

About the Role RecruitNet International Ltd, specialists in healthcare recruitment, are currently seeking Healthcare Assistants (HCA) to join leading nursing homes across Ireland.

This is a full-time, open-to-work opportunity for EU citizens and candidates holding Stamp 4 or Stamp 1G permissions. Sponsorship is not available for this position.


Responsibilities

You will support the nursing team in delivering comprehensive, person-centred care by:

  • Assisting residents with personal hygiene, grooming, and dignity while promoting independence.
  • Supporting resident mobility, protection, and comfort, including meal times and physical assistance.
  • Building positive relationships through engagement, companionship, and attentive care.
  • Ensuring consistency in daily activities and communication with nursing staff regarding health changes.
  • Planning and participating in social/recreational activities for enhanced well-being.
  • Facilitating open communication with residents and their families.
  • Maintaining high hygiene standards and assisting with Housekeeping duties.
  • Supporting Health & Safety protocols and complying with QQI-defined standards.
  • Undertaking additional duties as assigned by the Nurse in Charge or management.

Requirements

Applicants must hold or be progressing towards:

  • QQI Level 5 Healthcare qualification (or recognised equivalent).
  • Previous healthcare experience (desirable, with knowledge of HIQA standards).

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Fluent English (written & spoken).
