We have a fantastic opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join the primary care team at HMP Pentonville. HMP Pentonville is a Category B prison in London, with a capacity of 1100 males.
HMP Pentonville are recruiting for a Healthcare Assistant to support the wider healthcare team. You will be required to undertake observations, take bloods, and care for patients.

Hours
- This position is full-time, working 37.5 hours per week.
- 4 x shifts per week 0730 - 1730
- Mix of weekdays and weekends
Salary
- Up to £32,134 - Depending on experience.

What you'll be doing
As our new Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:

- Deliver exceptional care to patients, both in the healthcare department and on the wings
- Facilitate clinics, including bloods, observations (obs), ECGs, NHS Health checks, etc.
- Be involved in the implementation of clinical care packages
- Support the nursing team with all aspects of care
- Act as a second checker in pharmacy as required
- Support receptions (new patients entering the prison) and assist with triaging new patients

Our new Healthcare Assistant will:
- Ideally hold an NVQ Level 2 or 3 qualification in Health & Social Care, or Care Certificate
- Have experience within phlebotomy - this is highly desirable!
- Have experience in a clinical care setting previously - ideally from a hospital or prison setting
- Have clinical experience - venepuncture, ECGs, etc.
- Have a non-judgemental and compassionate approach
