Role Description
This is a contract, on-site Healthcare Assistant role based in Surbiton. The Healthcare Assistant will support patients with personal care, daily living activities, and emotional wellbeing in residential or community settings. Responsibilities include:

- Assisting with mobility
- Monitoring patients’ comfort and safety
- Following care plans
- Reporting changes in condition to senior staff
The role also involves:
- Maintaining a clean and safe environment
- Adhering to health and safety procedures
- Working collaboratively with nurses and other healthcare professionals
The Healthcare Assistant is expected to provide compassionate, person-centred care while upholding the values and standards of Seva Service Ltd.
Qualifications
- Strong patient care skills, including personal care, observation, and support with daily activities.
- Capability in manual handling and safe mobility assistance, following relevant guidelines and training.
- Good understanding of basic health and safety practices in healthcare settings.
- Effective interpersonal skills for communicating with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with medicine administration procedures and awareness of professional boundaries (formal training or certification preferred).
- At least 12 months previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant is essential.
- Relevant care-related training or qualifications (e.g., NVQ/QCF in Health and Social Care) are an advantage.
- Ability to work flexibly, follow instructions, and maintain accurate records.
