We have an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join our Primary Care team at HMP Foston Hall, a closed prison located in Derby.

HMP Foston Hall is a closed women's prison with a capacity for 335 inmates. We are recruiting for Healthcare Assistants to support teams within areas such as Early Days in Custody and Unscheduled Care.

Hours

  • Long days: 0730–2000, Monday to Sunday on a rota basis
  • 1 weekend in 4
  • (Note: No nights currently, however this may be reintroduced in the future)

Salary

  • Full-time, annually up to £29,723 per annum

What You’ll Be Doing

As a Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary, including:

  • Supporting the registered nurse in implementing an agreed plan of care, working with the patient and following training/guidance while ensuring safe patient care
  • Develop and apply new skills to improve and enhance clinical service delivery

Outside of your core duties, we also support your career development, offering:

Qualifications & Skills Required

  • NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care
  • A non-judgemental and compassionate approach
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good IT skills and literacy
  • Ability to work in a busy environment
  • Ability to work unsupervised while adhering to policy and procedures

Ideally: Previous experience working in a hospital, community, or prison environment would be advantageous.
