Healthcare Assistant – Complex Care
Location: Hedge End, Hampshire
Pay Rates: £14.00 – £23.00 per hour Shift Pattern: Day shifts / Night shifts
About The Role
We are seeking compassionate, reliable, and professional Healthcare Assistants to provide dedicated support to an elderly gentleman in his home environment.
This role offers the opportunity to:
- Promote dignity, independence, and wellbeing
- Provide care tailored to the individual’s needs
- Work closely with family members to deliver person-centred care
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with daily living activities
- Monitor health and wellbeing
- Ensure comfort and safety at all times
- Support the client’s independence and quality of life
Special Considerations:
- The client experiences three types of seizures, which may sometimes lead to episodes of psychosis.
- Healthcare Assistants will follow an established epilepsy care plan, which includes:
- Recognising seizure activity
- Responding appropriately during episodes
- Administering emergency medication as prescribed

Requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
- Proven track record of going above and beyond care to enhance clients’ meaningful social outcomes — aligned with OneCall24 Healthcare’s core values
- Experience in:
- Supporting clients with epilepsy
- Managing Acquired Brain Injury (ABI)
- Medication administration
- Must hold a full UK driver’s license (duties require driving ability)
Personal Attributes:
- Compassionate, patient, and client-focused
- Reliable and professional
- Skilled in seizure recognition and management
- Ability to work independently and within structured care plans
