Healthcare Assistant – Worthing & Surrounding Areas

Location: Worthing, Lancing, Goring-by-Sea, Ferring, Littlehampton, Rustington, Angmering and surrounding areas

Pay: £12.71–£16.00 per hour

Hours: Full-time and Part-time available (minimum 24 hours per week) Shifts: 12-hour day and night shifts

About the Role

We are recruiting compassionate and reliable Healthcare Assistants to provide person-centred support for clients with complex care needs within the Worthing area and surrounding communities.

Whether you are new to care or seeking to advance your career, we offer comprehensive in-house clinical training and continuous professional support to help you excel.

You’ll Be Providing:

  • Person-centred care and support in clients' own homes
  • Personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing and toileting
  • Mobility, positioning, and transfer support
  • Medication administration (following training and care plans)
  • Health and wellbeing monitoring (including recording changes)
  • Meal preparation and nutritional support
  • Maintenance of a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment
  • Collaborative care delivery with families, nurses, and healthcare professionals

No Experience Needed – We’ll Train You

While clinical care experience is valuable, any caring professional with a willingness to learn can thrive in this role. Our in-house clinical training programme, delivered by experienced nursing professionals, ensures all successful applicants are fully equipped with the necessary skills.

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • A caring and compassionate nature
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to learn, adapt, and develop clinical expertise
  • Reliability, professionalism, and a positive attitude
  • Ability to work flexible 12-hour day, night, weekend shifts
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Ability to successfully complete enhanced DBS checks and references

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in care, healthcare, or customer service
  • NVQ/QCF Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent certification)
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle

  • 36-hour workweek: Average earnings of £500–£555 per week (including accrued holiday pay)
  • Estimated annual salary: £26,200–£28,950 (varies based on hours worked and shift pattern)
