Job Overview
We have exciting opportunities for motivated and enthusiastic Healthcare Assistants to join the the Outpatients Department at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.
We are looking to recruit friendly Healthcare Assistants who have excellent communication skills and enjoy working in a busy team. The post holders will provide essential clinical and administrative support to the clinical team within our Outpatients Department, helping to provide a high level of care to patients. You will manage a group of patients on their journey through the consultations, any relevant diagnostics and will give information as and when deemed necessary.
The post holders must be able to effectively manage their own workload when caring for a group of patients under the supervision of a registered nurse.
Candidates will be required to attend a face to face interview.

Main duties of the job
This role supports registered nurses in providing safe and caring support to patients.
- It involves helping patients with everyday needs such as washing, eating, drinking and moving safely.
- You will check and record basic health information and report any concerns to a nurse.
- The job includes keeping the ward clean, tidy and well-organised, and helping with basic admin tasks.
- You will work flexibly across different wards and follow all training, policies and safety rules.
Good communication, kindness and respect for patients and their individual needs are essential.
