Job Introduction Package Description

You will be joining a dedicated and close knit ward team who are passionate about delivering high quality care and supporting each other in a busy but rewarding environment. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week.

Main Responsibilities

In this role, you will support the delivery of high quality care to patients on Kestrel Ward, working under the guidance of registered nurses. You will assist with both clinical and personal care, ensuring patients are treated with dignity and respect at all times. You will be involved in supporting patients with a range of complex needs, including those at end of life, those requiring rehabilitation and those in crisis. This is a varied role where you will have the opportunity to make a real difference to patient wellbeing and experience. Working as part of the multidisciplinary team, you will communicate effectively with colleagues, patients and families, ensuring continuity of care and a positive patient journey.   • Supporting patients with daily care and clinical needs under supervision
  • Reporting changes in patient condition to the registered nurse
  • Maintaining accurate and up to date patient records
  • Assisting with simple clinical tasks such as dressings when trained and competent
  • Communicating effectively with the wider multidisciplinary team
  • Promoting patient health, wellbeing and dignity at all times
  • Contributing to a safe, clean and supportive ward environment

Person Specification

Essential

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • A caring and compassionate approach
  • Ability to recognise your own limitations and work within your scope of practice
  • Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office

Desirable

  • Experience working in a healthcare or care setting
  • Experience supporting patients with complex or long term conditions
  • Relevant qualification such as NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care
