Fairmile Grange Care Home in Christchurch is currently recruiting Healthcare Assistants to join our warm, supportive, and professional team on day shifts, including alternate weekends. Whether you are an experienced carer or new to the care sector, we welcome you and provide full training to help you succeed.

As a Care Companion (what we call Healthcare Assistants), you will play a vital role in delivering high‑quality, person‑centred care, supporting residents’ physical, emotional, and social wellbeing in a home‑from‑home environment.
You will work closely with Senior Healthcare Assistants and Registered Nurses, ensuring each resident is treated with dignity, respect, and kindness—every single day.
Key Responsibilities – Healthcare Assistant
As part of your role, you will:
- Deliver high standards of personal and nursing care, including washing, dressing, mouth care, toileting, mobility support, and manual handling
- Provide emotional and social support, from companionship and conversation to meaningful daily interactions
- Assist residents to take part in wellbeing activities, hobbies, crafts, entertainment, and home events
- Maintain accurate daily care records, including fluid balance and dietary charts, and report concerns to nursing staff
- Support residents with nutrition and hydration, including assistance with eating and drinking
- Accompany residents to external appointments when required
- Assist with maintaining skin integrity and pressure area care, reporting any changes promptly
- Communicate effectively with families, friends, and healthcare professionals
- Act as a mentor to new Healthcare Assistants, supporting induction and ongoing development

What We’re Looking For
You’ll be a great fit if you have:
- A warm, positive, and friendly attitude
- A caring, empathetic approach to supporting others
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work alternate weekends
- Availability to work one, two, or three 12‑hour day shifts per week
Previous care experience is desirable but not essential – full training and ongoing support are provided.
