Healthcare Assistant | Oncology (Part-Time – 30 Hours/Week)
About the Role
Spire Dunedin Hospital is seeking an Oncology Support Worker to join their clinical team on a part-time basis (30 hours/week), playing a crucial role in cancer care services.
Located in the heart of Reading, Spire Dunedin Hospital is a long-established medical facility (over 100 years old) with two theatres, 16 inpatient beds, three recovery bays, Oncology services, and an Endoscopy Suite. This position offers competitive salary, access to training, and further development following a qualifying period.
Responsibilities
- Assisting the clinical team in delivering exemplary patient care within cancer care services
- Supporting patients through monitoring, observations, and well-being assessments
- Identifying and promptly reporting any significant health or behavioural changes to the relevant staff
- Assisting with patient transfers/movements in compliance with hospital policies

Requirements
Applicants should have:
- Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant (HCA) or equivalent in a clinical environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge/experience in:
- Performing ECGs and blood pressure checks
- Taking blood samples and conducting patient observations
- An NVQ Level 3 would be advantageous
