Healthcare Assistant - Pre Assessment
About the Role
Ross Hall Clinic Braehead, part of Circle Health Group – Britain’s leading independent healthcare provider – is looking for a Healthcare Assistant to join their team in the Pre Assessment department. This is a permanent role working 37.5 hours per week, including a flexible shift pattern with the possibility of night shifts.
Salary & Contract
- Salary: Up to £25,500.00 per year (depending on experience, training, and qualifications)
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week, days and nights
Responsibilities
The role requires a multi-skilled approach, with key duties including:
- Supporting patients with personal hygiene (washing, dressing, toileting, oral care), maintaining dignity and respect for individual preferences.
- Assisting with eating, drinking, and nutritional support, including accurate documentation of patient intake when required.
- Providing emotional and physical comfort to patients and relatives, fostering a caring and safe environment.
- Completing and recording routine observations such as:
- Blood pressure
- Pulse
- Respiratory rate
- Temperature
- Oxygen saturation
- Blood glucose levels (after appropriate training)
- Supporting clinical procedures, including:
- Setup and management of wound care
- Assistance with catheter care
- Pressure area prevention
- Use of mobility aids
- Preparing and maintaining clinical areas (beds, trolleys, and equipment) for patient use.
- Collaborating with nurses, doctors, therapists, and admin teams to ensure safe and efficient patient care.

Requirements & Qualifications
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Previous experience in a care or health support role (hospital, care home, community, or domiciliary).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a caring, compassionate attitude.
- Ability to follow instructions precisely and escalate concerns effectively.
- Proficiency in basic literacy, numeracy, and IT skills (whether on screen or using manual systems).
- Physical capability to perform duties, including moving and handling tasks.
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification) is desirable.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, infection control, and confidentiality procedures.
