Healthcare Assistant – Community Nursing Team (Staffordshire & Stoke)

About the Role
Are you a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant looking for a role where your care can make a meaningful difference every day? Join our community team in Staffordshire and Stoke to help provide personalised, dignified end-of-life care in people’s own homes.
As part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, you’ll provide safe, respectful, and comfortable end-of-life support, working closely with patients and their loved ones. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with personal care, skin integrity, nutrition and hydration, mobility, rest, and sleep
- Supporting individual care plans while maintaining a clean and safe care environment
- Observing and responding to changes in a person’s condition, supporting symptom management, and escalating concerns promptly to registered healthcare professionals
- Offering calm, sensitive, and professional communication to patients and families, preserving dignity, choice, and wellbeing

Contract & Details
Contract Type: Permanent Positions Available: Multiple Shifts: Night shifts (10:00 PM – 7:00 AM, Monday to Sunday, including Bank Holidays) Salary: £12.92/hr (Marie Curie Pay Scale Band 2) with up to 41% uplift for night shifts, weekends, and public holidays Location: Community-based in Staffordshire and Stoke
Requirements
- Recent experience in a health or social care setting, with the ability to support individuals with dignity, compassion, and respect
- An understanding of person-centred care (preferably in palliative or end-of-life care), with a genuine commitment to improving patient and family outcomes
- Strong communication skills, able to escalate concerns sensitively and professionally
- A caring, flexible, and resilient approach, with the ability to work independently while contributing to a supportive team
- Basic IT skills (email, online training, care recording systems)
- NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (desirable but not essential)
- Valid driving license and access to a fully insured vehicle, with flexibility to travel up to 25 miles in Staffordshire and Stoke (including unsocial hours)
