Healthcare Assistant - Theatre
About the Role
The Healthcare Assistant - Theatre opportunity is available at The Lincoln Hospital, part of Circle Health Group, Britain’s leading provider of independent healthcare.
This is a permanent, full-time position (37.5 hours per week) with a flexible shift pattern.
Salary: Up to £25,528.00 per year, depending on training, qualifications, and experience.
Duties
The key responsibilities for this role include:
- Assisting in the safe transfer and positioning of patients before, during, and after surgical procedures
- Providing reassurance and emotional support to patients throughout the perioperative pathway
- Preparing patients for surgery (gowning, documentation checks, and ensuring correct identification)
- Supporting patient recovery in theatre areas under supervision
- Escorting patients to and from theatre areas, wards, and recovery
- Ensuring patient dignity, privacy, and comfort at all times
- Assisting with basic patient observations and reporting concerns to registered staff promptly

Requirements
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Previous experience in a care or health support role (e.g., hospital, care home, community, or domiciliary)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a caring, compassionate attitude
- Ability to follow instructions and escalate concerns appropriately
- Proficiency in literacy, numeracy, and basic IT skills
- Physical ability to perform duties, including moving and handling tasks
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification) is desirable
- Knowledge of safeguarding, infection control, and confidentiality procedures
