Healthcare Sales Associate
**Transitional Care Liaison – Ohio Living

Primary Responsibilities
☑ Administration & Reporting (50%)
- Make independent, judgment-driven decisions regarding patient referrals and admissions.
- Coordinate pre-certifications & re-certifications with insurance providers.
- Oversee incoming patient records as the primary liaison for pre-admission needs.
- Gather referral data to inform performance analytics and identify process improvements.
- Document admissions while monitoring occupancy statistics.
- Actively share operational insights to enhance departmental efficiency.
- Attend all required training, meetings, and in-services.
☑ Sales & Referral Management (20%)
- Grow referral networks by educating regional partners on our community’s unique offerings.
- Represent Ohio Living at networking events (including early morning/evening engagements).
- Manage declined referrals while nurturing new opportunities.
- Conduct hospital visits (resident/family meetings, prospect outreach, pre-admission prepping).
- Lead life plan community tours and maintain strict confidentiality for all residents/patients.
- Ensure communication between clinical teams and insurance stays smooth.

☑ Reimbursement Management (10%)
- Supply pre-certification documentation to finance teams for billing validation.
- Assess payment readiness for prospective residents and implement cost-saving strategies.
- Proactively collect updated resident data from charts/nursing staff to support insurance approvals.
- Process admissions paperwork timely with signed contracts in place.
☑ Customer Relationships (10%)
- Foster trust with residents, families, staff, and third-party payers.
- Share timely, practical information about services and care outcomes.
- Offer a consistent, compassionate experience aligned with our mission.
☑ Team Management & Development (10%)
- Supervise and mentor assigned staff, setting clear performance expectations.
- Retain talent through positive leadership and constructive evaluations.
- Conduct interviews, orientations, and one-on-one coaching.
- Enforce company policies (e.g., accountability, work requirements) with HR collaboration.
- Design, schedule, and monitor training programs for direct reports.
- Ensure staffing continuity in case of unplanned absences or vacancies.
☑ Ongoing Tasks
- Facilitate referral activities not directly handled by the team.
- Act as a reliable resource for internal review/approval requests.
Requirements
Education
- Required: Associate degree in a healthcare-related field.
- Preferred: Bachelor’s in marketing or a healthcare administration-related field.
Licensing
- Preferred: Current, unencumbered Ohio state license (RN or LPN) due to clinical responsibilities.
Experience
- Required: 3+ years in long-term care, hospital, or clinical settings (nursing or admissions preferred).
- Preferred: 2+ years in nursing home admissions or related medical liaison work.

Sales & Technology Skills
- Experience in healthcare sales/marketing is a tangible advantage.
- Must be proficient with:
- Windows
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Internet research/coordination
Credentials
- Proper English proficiency (reading, writing, speaking).
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Eligible for professional liability/crime insurance (carrier policies apply).
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Daily Activity Level:
- Sitting: Up to 6 hours/day
- Standing: Up to 6 hours/day
- Walking: Up to 6 hours/day
- Light manual labor (lifting <25lbs, pushing/pulling equipment)
- Driving: 6+ hours/week.
- Push schedule: Holidays, weekends, some evenings.
- On-call availability: 24/7 for acute & routine admissions.
- Occupational Hazards:
- Minimal exposure to aging/resident care challenges.
- Potential infectious disease risk (AIDS/Hepatitis B protocols upheld).
- CDC Bloodborne Pathogens Exposure Category II assigned role.
