Health Care Support Worker – Savernake Inpatient Team
About the Role
As a Health Care Support Worker, you’ll be part of our valued Savernake Inpatient team. This is an essential role within the multi-disciplinary healthcare team, providing a high standard of care for patients and support to families, friends, and carers.
You will receive a compensation package of £25,000.00 (pro rata to hours worked), along with exclusive benefits including:

Savernake Ward delivers 24-hour care, seven days a week, so the right candidate must be willing to work a variety of shifts. Flexible working arrangements are negotiable, though unfortunately, no sponsorship is available at this time.

Key Responsibilities
As a Health Care Support Worker, your role includes:
- Care and support for patients within guidelines and protocols.
- Essential Care Provision:
- Assisting with personal hygiene, continence, mobility, nutrition, and hydration.
- Promoting rehabilitation by encouraging patients to regain and maintain independence.
- Additional skill development (upon training and competence assessment), including:
- Monitoring and recording patient observations
- Performing ECGs
- Phlebotomy (blood draws)
- Working closely within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient-focused care.

Ideal Candidate Requirements
We are looking for a motivated, compassionate individual with:
- Good general education
- Care Certificate (preferred) or a willingness to obtain it
- Experience working under supervision
- Preference for experience in supporting other healthcare workers
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Strong commitment to patient-centred care
- Awareness of limitations and willingness to escalate care as needed
- Basic typing/data input skills
- Physical proficiency to assist patients, including using lifting aids or manual handling techniques
- Willingness and ability to undertake specific clinical tasks (e.g., nursing/therapy procedures) after training
- Self-motivated, driven, and possessing Outstanding time-management skills
