Under the supervision of the lead practice nurse, the post holder will complement and form a key part of the multi-disciplinary healthcare services, providing high standards of individualized care for patients and supporting the operational requirements of delivering healthcare in primary care to support the delivery of holistic care packages within the practice.

The post holder will undertake delegated duties covering the patient journey within the GP practice. This includes:

  • New patient health checks screening
  • Undertaking appropriate physical health observations
  • Undertaking clinics such as Phlebotomy clinics, ECG Clinics, spirometry and NHS health checks, sexual health, Influenza, Pneumonia and B12 injections and wound care

The post holder will also be expected to undertake chaperoning duties and support the processing and management of laboratory samples. The post holder will have the skills to support patients showing low-level mental ill health by providing support in accordance with agreed care plans.
