Healthcare Technician
Optegra Healthcare Technician or HCA (Band 3) – Ophthalmology Vance (Wetherby Hospital)
Optegra offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced Healthcare Technician or HCA (Band 3) with ward or theatre experience, ideally in ophthalmology, to join our supportive team at Wetherby Hospital.

Responsibilities
As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you’ll deliver high-quality patient care across clinical and administrative duties. Key responsibilities include:
- Holding accountability for patient care excellence throughout visits
- Supporting outpatient consultations and pre-assessments alongside clinical teams and optometrists
- Performing diagnostic testing (Biometry, OCT, AScan, Visual fields, Pentacam, VA, IOP, Topography)
- Assisting patients on surgery days, ensuring effective communication
- Handling patient enquiries and referring complex cases to medical practitioners
- Providing basic ophthalmic health advice and pre/post-operative care

Requirements
- Qualifications: NVQ Level 2/3 or healthcare equivalent
- Experience: Probity in healthcare or ophthalmic environments
- Skills: Confident in Basic Life Support, highly organised, adaptable, and detail-oriented
