Day-to-day duties

Energy Lab is a specialist supplier of renewable heating solutions, supporting installers, consultants and contractors with air source, ground source and water source heat pump technologies.

Working with leading manufacturers, including Ecoforest, MAXA, and Volta we provide product supply, technical design support, commissioning assistance, installer guidance and ongoing technical expertise across the UK.

Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit a Heat Pump Design & Technical Support Engineer to join our technical team.

The Role

This is a varied technical role supporting the design, documentation and technical delivery of renewable heating projects.

The successful candidate will assist with heat pump system design, technical drawings, hydraulic schematics, component selection, installer support and technical documentation. The role will involve working closely with the Design & Technical Manager, manufacturers, installers, consultants and internal teams to help ensure that technical information is accurate, practical and aligned with manufacturer guidance and Energy Lab procedures.

This role would suit someone with a technical design background, preferably within plumbing, heating, HVAC, building services, commissioning, renewable energy, or heat pump systems, who wants to apply their technical knowledge in a specialist design and technical support role.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
