Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Plumber / Heat Pump Installer role based in the Leicestershire with projects around the country. The installer will be responsible for installing air source and ground source heat pumps and associated components, including pipework, fittings, and controls, in line with manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
Day-to-day tasks include:
- Site surveys
- Interpreting technical drawings
- Preparing installation areas
- Connecting hydraulic and electrical systems in coordination with qualified professionals
- Commissioning units to ensure safe and efficient operation

The role also involves:
- Diagnosing basic faults
- Performing routine maintenance
- Completing documentation and installation reports

The installer will work closely with project managers and suppliers to ensure materials are available, jobs are completed on schedule, and all work meets safety and quality requirements.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of domestic and commercial heating systems, including heat pump technology, basic plumbing, and mechanical installation practices.
- Experience with on-site installation work, use of hand and power tools, and safe manual handling techniques.
- Understanding of relevant safety standards and regulations, with a commitment to safe working practices and quality workmanship.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, installation guides, and manufacturer instructions.
- Good problem-solving skills for identifying and resolving installation or performance issues.
- Effective communication skills for working with team members, contractors, and customers.
- Reliable time management and organizational skills to handle multiple jobs and meet project deadlines.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel within the Greater Leicester Area and surrounding regions.
- Relevant vocational qualifications (e.g., NVQ or equivalent in Plumbing, Heating, or Mechanical Services); experience with renewables or heat pumps is highly beneficial.
- ACS gas qualifications and Gas Safe
- F-GAS desirable
- Willingness and opportunities to undertake ongoing training in low-carbon and renewable heating technologies.
