Role Description
The Heating Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Bude. The Heating Engineer will install, service, and repair central heating systems, boilers, LPG systems, and renewable heating solutions in domestic and commercial properties. Typical tasks include:
- Diagnosing faults
- Carrying out routine and reactive maintenance
- Completing safety checks
- Ensuring systems operate efficiently and in line with relevant regulations
The role involves working closely with clients to provide clear explanations of work, offering honest advice, and ensuring a high standard of customer service on every job. The Heating Engineer will also support planned maintenance schedules, collaborate with colleagues, and maintain accurate documentation and job reports.
Qualifications

- Strong experience in central heating systems, boiler installations, servicing, and repairs.
- Proficiency in LPG systems and commercial gas work, with relevant certifications.
- Solid plumbing skills, including bathrooms, hot water systems, and pipework installations.
- Background in building maintenance, underfloor heating, and renewable heating technologies such as air source heat pumps.
- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and provide honest, practical advice.
- Relevant industry qualifications (e.g., NVQ or equivalent in Plumbing/Heating), and current gas/LPG registrations where required.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and commitment to health and safety standards.
- Valid UK driving license and willingness to travel across Cornwall and Devon as needed.
