Job Description Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Assembler to support the manufacture of Large Power Transformers in line with customer and production requirements. The successful candidate will ensure all assembly, inspection, and testing activities are completed using Lean Manufacturing methodologies while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.
You will work to detailed specifications and instructions, using the correct tools, techniques, and processes to deliver products that meet exacting customer expectations.
Job Description
What You’ll Be Doing
Environment, Health & Safety (EHS)
- Maintain full compliance with all EHS policies, procedures, and safe working practices.
- Follow all operational safety procedures to ensure personal safety and the safety of colleagues.
- Always Adhere to mandatory Life Saving Rules and workplace safety standards.
Production & Delivery
- Responsible for the assembly and build of products in line with the manufacturing plan.
- Ensure products are completed to schedule to support on-time delivery targets.
- Work efficiently to achieve production goals without compromising safety or quality.
Product Quality
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and quality requirements.
- Maintain high build standards and identify any issues affecting product quality.
- Interpret technical diagrams, drawings, and schematics accurately.
Continuous Improvement
- Support and implement process improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and delivery performance.
- Contribute ideas for improvement through the Employee Ideas Scheme.
- Assist in driving sustainable manufacturing efficiencies using Lean Manufacturing principles.
Maintenance & Housekeeping
- Follow routine maintenance schedules and cleaning plans for workstations, tools, jigs, and fixtures.
- Report any concerns or equipment issues to the Production Support Engineer/Coordinator.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.

Team Support
- Assist with training and supporting colleagues where required.
- Collaborate effectively within the production team.
- Support additional duties as required to meet business needs.
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to future operational requirements.
What We’re Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience
- Good general standard of education with recognised qualifications.
- Significant experience within a light mechanical assembly or similar manufacturing environment.
- Ability to follow written instructions and standard procedures accurately.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Comfortable using touchscreen technology and basic IT systems.
- Experience with manual handling and safe lifting practices.
Desirable Skills & Knowledge
- Electrical or electronic qualifications would be advantageous.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Kanban, and Flow/Pull techniques.
- Mechanical and/or electrical aptitude.
- Experience interpreting engineering drawings and schematic diagrams.
Additional Information
- Shift Pattern: Rotating Monday to Friday
- 6:00am – 2:00pm
- 2:00pm – 10:00pm
- Relocation and Visa Sponsorship not provided
