Heavy Duty Cleaner
We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Heavy Duty Cleaner to join our team. This is a permanent part-time position working 22.5 hours per week from 08:30 to 13:00 Monday to Friday. The salary is £15,239.17 per annum.
Responsibilities
This role will be responsible for rubbish removal, litter picking, and a variety of other tasks within the accommodation, including cleaning. This will include:
- Empty waste bins and remove rubbish from flats to bin store areas
- Separate waste to ensure reaching optimal waste to recycling
- Litter picking, and ensuring excellent presentation of the site
- Clean internal and external windows, where applicable
- Vacuum, spot clean and shampoo carpets, sweep and polish floors and clean stairs
- Wash walls, doors, furniture, radiators, lampshades as appropriate
During the summer season only:
- Make beds, including stripping and changing sheeting
- Collection of laundered linen from store, bag and pack laundry for collection
- Clean and wash glasses, cutlery and cooking utensils, as appropriate
- Daily liaison with the residents, Residence Managers and associated UPP staff
Act in accordance with all Health & Safety policies and practices at all times.
Requirements
We truly care about the experience of our residents and invite you to join our friendly and passionate team to help make a positive difference to students living away from home in our accommodation. We are looking for you to already have experience of cleaning in a similar environment and have great communication and organisation skills, along with an attention to detail and the passion to do an excellent job. You will need to have a good conversational standard of the English language and an ability to read and interpret our Health & Safety guidance. You will also be prepared to work (with notice) at other sites if required and additional hours when the need arises, especially during the main student arrival and departure weekends.
