About Yorkshire Helicopters
Yorkshire Helicopters is a CAA Approved Training Organisation based at Leeds East Airport, approximately 8 miles south-west of York.
We provide helicopter flight training from PPL(H) through to CPL(H), with a strong focus on developing safe, proficient pilots who are prepared for the realities of flying beyond just passing the skills test.
Our training is delivered primarily on the Robinson R44 by a small team led by highly experienced instructor/examiners, in a professional and supportive environment.
We work with a mixture of recreational and career-focused students and take pride in providing high-quality training that starts with the first lesson and continues throughout their flying journey.
The Role
Due to continued growth, we are looking for a qualified FI(H) to join our instructional team.
Initially, the role will involve delivering PPL(H) training on the Robinson R44, supporting students to develop the skills, confidence and judgement required to become safe and capable helicopter pilots.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
