About The Role

Through innovative teaching, insightful research and inspired partnerships, the Education provision within the Department of Psychology and Education at University of Staffordshire is producing creative, passionate and highly skilled education professionals. University of Staffordshire offers a broad portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in education, alongside apprenticeship routes. These span both Initial Teacher Education (ITE) and non-ITE provision, supporting learners at different stages of their professional development across the education sector. We were successfully inspected by OFSTED in 2024, ranked 5th place in the Guardian Subject League Tables for 2025 and are fully accredited to offer teacher training.

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic academic to contribute to teaching and learning across our Education provision.

We have a vacancy for a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Education. We are looking for someone with experience of learning and teaching within an educational context. The successful candidate will be passionate about the development of the education workforce and committed to delivering an outstanding student experience.

We are seeking someone with the ability to contribute to the design and delivery of an inspiring and inclusive curriculum across our provision, and to work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners.

The successful candidate should possess an appropriate teaching qualification alongside their postgraduate academic qualification. Experience of Initial Teacher Education (ITE), early childhood, education studies, apprenticeship provision, school or educational leadership, or professional training would be advantageous.

Main Responsibilities

The main responsibilities for our Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Education will be to:

Contribute to the development and delivery of high-quality academic provision across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes within Education Teach across a range of education programmes, including ITE (applicants with QTS only), early childhood, education studies, apprenticeships, and related disciplines as required Provide academic and pastoral support for students across a range of levels and/or programmes Contribute to curriculum development, enhancement and quality assurance processes across the provision Contribute to University-led and/or School initiatives in line with strategic priorities and business development plans
