Heritage Project Manager – Permanent

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Heritage Project Manager to join a small business, working on traditional, historic and listed buildings, with a focus on careful repair, refurbishment and conservation-led construction. We are looking for someone who is a practical, organised project manager to take day-to-day responsibility for running small heritage construction projects.

The successful candidate will manage two small works teams, each with its own team leader, and will be responsible for approximately eight people overall. Typical project values are around £40,000, although some jobs may be smaller or larger.

Job Description for the Heritage Project Manager role

As the Heritage Project Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing two team leaders and their small works teams
  • Planning and sequencing small heritage construction projects
  • Turning agreed scopes of work into practical site delivery plans
  • Ensuring labour, materials, subcontractors and access arrangements are in place
  • Monitoring progress, quality, safety and cost against agreed expectations
  • Ensuring work is completed safely, properly and to the required standard
  • Maintaining good site records, photographs, task records and progress updates
  • Ensuring RAMS, task instructions and site controls are followed
  • Identifying problems early and escalating them to the Managing Director where required
  • Communicating professionally with clients, consultants and other stakeholders throughout
  • Coordinating with suppliers and subcontractors
  • Supporting a culture of tidy, disciplined, high-quality heritage work
  • Using digital project management tools and ensuring team leaders and operatives follow digital processes
  • Capturing site photographs and progress records, ensuring you are keeping task records up to date
  • Helping improve the company’s systems as they develop

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
