HGV Class 1 Day Driver
Uniserve is a leading provider of innovative supply chain solutions, delivering excellence across global logistics. We are recruiting a reliable and experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to safely and efficiently operate Class 1 articulated vehicles, ensuring all deliveries, collections, and shunting activities are completed in full compliance with road transport legislation, company policies, and customer service expectations.
Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off, 12-hour shifts (flexibility essential)
Weekend and bank holiday working may be required depending on operational needs
Salary: £37,500 per annum
Key Responsibilities:
Operate HGV Class 1 (C+E) vehicles in a safe, professional, and legally compliant manner Complete trunking, store deliveries, collections, and/or yard shunting as required Carry out daily vehicle checks and defect reporting in line with company procedures Ensure loads are secure, paperwork is accurate, and PODs are completed correctly Comply fully with Drivers’ Hours, Working Time Directive, and Tachograph legislation Maintain high standards of road safety, fuel efficiency, and vehicle care Communicate effectively with transport teams, customers, and site personnel Report accidents, incidents, near misses, and defects promptly Represent Uniserve professionally at all customer and supplier sites Support operational flexibility, including changes to routes, start times, or duties where required Adhere to all Uniserve Health & Safety policies and procedures Follow site-specific rules at depots and customer locations Take responsibility for personal safety and that of others at all times Participate in toolbox talks, CPC training, and compliance briefings.

Skills & Experience:
Essential
Full HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence Valid Driver CPC Digital Tachograph Card Good knowledge of UK road transport legislation Strong safety awareness and professional driving standards Reliable, punctual, and flexible approach to work
Desirable
Previous trunking or retail distribution experience Yard shunting experience Experience working in time-critical environments
