HGV Class 1 Driver
HGV Class 1 Driver – Full-Time (Leyland, PR27)

About the Role
We’re seeking a reliable, experienced HGV Class 1 driver with HIAB and grab rig experience to deliver essential plant and safety barrier materials across UK highway networks. This full-time, hands-on role is ideal for those with a background in construction or agriculture, offering variety, responsibility, and career progression.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transporting construction plant and machinery safely to/from sites
- Loading/unloading using topic grab and HIAB attachments
- Operating in highway maintenance environments (adjusting to day/night shifts)
- Maintaining a strong focus on health & safety compliance
- Adhering to CPC requirements and practical driving standards
Flexibility is critical—shift patterns may include nights, weekends, and working away as required.
Requirements
Must-Have Qualifications & Experience
- Valid Class 1 HGV licence (or equivalent)
- Full Driver CPC (with Digi Card)
- 2–5 years’ HGV driving experience, including:
- Transporting plant machinery
- Use of ratchet straps & HIAB/grab rigs
- Experience in construction/fleet operations
- CSCS Health & Safety card
- No more than 6 penalty points on licence
- Eligibility to work in the UK (unsponsored)
- Strong physical fitness (loading/unloading reqs)
