HGV Class 1 Driver
HGV Class 1 Driver – Brackley, Northamptonshire
Earnings Opportunity: £19.15+ per Hour
We’re looking for a HGV Class 1 Driver to join Avara Foods at our site in Brackley, Northamptonshire.

Working Hours
- Shift 1: Sun–Thu, rolling start (First week: 4:30pm start; each subsequent week, start 30 minutes earlier)
- Shift 2: 15:00 start (3:00pm)
- Shift 3: 12:00 start (12:00pm)
About the Role
As a Class 1 Driver, you’ll:
- Complete daily driver envelopes with start/finish times, including Proof of Availability (POA)
- Update digital/physical records for tachograph stops
- Conduct pre-operation vehicle checks and report defects via the agreed process
- Ensure load security and bird welfare during transport
- Maintain real-time communication with the transport office about delays

Key Responsibilities
- Collect and deliver livestock safely from farms to Avara’s Brackley site (as per daily plans)
- Ensure load security and monitor bird welfare constantly
- Transport refrigerated goods nationwide
- Complete all transport documentation (e.g., weighbridge slips, poultry transport certificates)
- Maintain proactive communication with transport teams regarding delays or issues
- Wear and use provided protective equipment while adhering to Health & Safety
Requirements for Success
Applicants must have:
✔ Minimum 6 months’ Class 1 driving experience ✔ A current CPC and tacho card ✔ No more than 9 points on your driver’s licence ✔ Strong understanding of driver and transport regulations ✔ Flexibility to meet business needs and a positive work ethic
