HGV Class 1 Driver

HGV Class 1 Driver – Leyland, PR26

About the Role

Join our team as an HGV Class 1 Driver with HIAB experience and a commitment to flexible shift work, including the possibility of traveling away.

Location: Leyland, PR26

Key Responsibilities

Your role will involve:

  • Safe and timely delivery of plant, machinery, and safety barrier materials to and from highway maintenance sites around the UK motorway network.
  • Installing crash barriers and concrete barriers across major roads.
  • Assisting with loading and unloading tasks (physical fitness required).
  • Operating during day, night, and weekend shifts (shift patterns may vary weekly).
  • Maintaining reviewed driving standards (tolled for safety compliance).

Requirements & Skills

Must-Haves

✔ Valid HGV Class 1 license ✔ Right to work in the UK (unsponsored) ✔ Active Digi Card & Driver CPC (up to date) ✔ 2–5 years’ HGV driving experience (travel cepackage knowledge preferred) ✔ No more than 6 penalty points on licence ✔ HIAB experience & grab crane skills ✔ Experience transporting plant/machinery ✔ Proficient in ratchet-strap usage ✔ Active CSCS Health & Safety card ✔ Punctuality, strong communication and safety-conscious attitude ✔ Flexibility to work shifts (days, nights, weekends & travel if required)
