HGV Class 1 Driver - Days
Temperature-Controlled Logistics Driver (HGV Class C+E) – Portbury
Location: Portbury Working Hours: Monday – Friday (Days only – no night shifts) Average Weekly Hours: ~50 hours Overtime: Time and a half for hours worked over 39 per week Basic Wage: £15.61 per hour, paid weekly
About The Role

Key Responsibilities

Vehicle safety & compliance:
- Ensure the vehicle is always legal and roadworthy by completing daily checks and reporting any defects.
- Maintain DigiTacho log compliance at all times.

Load handling & security:
- Verify and secure the correct goods are loaded before departure.
- Perform trunking and multi-drop deliveries efficiently while adhering to working time regulations.

- Customer service & administration:
- Confirm deliveries with customers and obtain required signatures/paperwork.
- Return to the depot with all documentation in tact to ensure smooth depot processes.
Requirements
- C+E HGV driving licence in date.
- Valid, up-to-date DigiTacho and CPC.
- Minimum 2 years of Class 1 driving experience (preferably refrigerated).
- Ability to lift up to 18kg (e.g., boxes, pallets, equipment).
- Strong verbal communication skills in English to liaise with team members and customers.
