Job Description
We’re seeking HGV Class 1 Drivers to join our team in Telford, supporting the Long-Life Chilled operation and delivering to major retail customers across the UK.
This is a night shift role offering permanent, full-time employment with financial stability. Our dedicated transport team thrives on safety, reliability, and professional standards, and we’re looking for drivers who take pride in their work, deliver exceptional service, and uphold the business’s reputation on the road.
Shift Patterns (Available)
- 4 on 4 off Nights – Start times: 18:00 – 03:00
- 5 on 3 off Nights – Start times: 18:00 – 03:00 Due to delivery schedules, drivers will have a 3-hour start window to ensure flexibility based on volume.

Compensation
- OTE range: £41,756 – £52,000 per year, depending on shift pattern, overtime, and applicable allowances.
- Strong earning potential with opportunities for night-out work.
Key Responsibilities
- Safe, professional deliveries to UK customer premises, including Regional Distribution Centres.
- Load and unload where required using PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
- Daily communication with the Transport team:
- Report delays.
- Document discrepancies or issues.
- Ensure Proof of Delivery (POD) forms are signed and submitted to the Transport Office.
- Strict adherence to:
- Road Transport Directive and tachograph rules.
- Health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
- Vehicle and load management:
- Complete daily vehicle checks and report defects accurately.
- Conduct temperature checks where necessary (for chilled products).
- Maintain the condition of your vehicle/trailer, including any P.P.T equipment.
- Customer service excellence:
- Uphold a professional appearance and behaviour at all times.
- Provide friendly, reliable service during deliveries.
- Opportunity to utilise optional ‘night-out’ runs, where available.

Requirements
Essential
- Valid C+E Licence.
- Current, valid DCPC (Driver CPC) and Digital Tachograph cards.
- Minimum 6 months’ commercial Class 1 HGV experience (adding potential applicants with a strong attitude and commitment to training will be considered).
- No more than 6 penalty points on your driving licence.
- No convictions recorded under the DD (Dangerous Driving) or DR (Driving While Drunk/Injured) codes.
- Thorough understanding of:
- UK Drivers’ Hours & Working Time Directive regulations.
- Vehicle checks and defect reporting procedures.
- On-site health and safety policies.
- Strong communication skills and a professional, reliable demeanour.
