Job Description We are recruiting permanent HGV Class 1 Shunter to join us at our customer operation in Workington, responsible for Shunting Loads on site at Iggesund Paper Mill. This role is ideal for a HGV driver who takes pride in safe driving, excellent customer service and dependable delivery standards. The roles are full time, working on a permanent basis 4 on 4 off Night Shifts with a shift pattern 18:00pm - 06:00am This is a salaried role and the annual salary is: £35.294 per annum Driver Responsibilities: On Site Shunting responsibilities, loading and unloading goods and transporting around site Shunting Trailers between loading docks and designated yard areas Ensuring correct positioning for loading and unloading Operating Vehicles in line with site rules, speed limits and pedestrian controls Completing all necessary vehicle checks and documentation Maintaining high levels of safety, compliance, and professionalism Working closely with the transport team to ensure smooth operations Adhere to Driver's hours, WTD, and tachograph legislation. Qualifications You should hold a valid C+E Licence and ideally have a minimum of 6 months HGV Class 1 driving experience Previous Experience in a HGV Shunting role is advantageous No more than 6 points and no DD/ DR Code convictions. Hold a current valid DCPC & Tacho cards. Understand and able to comply with Driver’s hours and WTD legislation. Able to understand and carry out necessary vehicle checks to ensure vehicle safety and able to report defects correctly. Should comply with on-site health and safety requirements.
