Driver Hire/dh Recruitment (Torbay & Barnstaple) is recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver for a permanent role based in Newton Abbot.
This role offers weekly pay, a regular Thursday to Monday working pattern and a salary of £37,340.16 per year. It will suit a reliable Class 2 Driver who is comfortable with 5am starts, weekend work and working independently after induction.
About The Role
You will be working from a Newton Abbot depot, carrying out customer deliveries across the local and regional area.
The role involves driving a Category C Class 2 HGV vehicle, completing deliveries safely and professionally, keeping accurate records and representing the transport operation well when dealing with customers.

Duties
Your Duties Will Include
- Driving a Category C Class 2 HGV vehicle safely and professionally
- Carrying out customer deliveries across the local and regional area
- Completing daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects
- Following drivers’ hours regulations and tachograph rules
- Completing delivery paperwork and vehicle documentation
- Following health and safety procedures
- Providing a good level of customer service during deliveries
- Working reliably across a Thursday to Monday shift pattern
- Starting work from 5am
What We Are Looking For
You will need:
- A full UK Category C Class 2 HGV driving licence
- A valid Driver CPC qualification
- A valid Digital Tachograph Card
- Previous Class 2 driving experience
- A good understanding of drivers’ hours and road transport rules
- Confidence working independently after induction
- Reliability and a professional approach to customer deliveries
- The ability to work Thursday to Monday, including weekend shifts
- The ability to start from 5am
Desirable But Not Essential
- Knowledge of South Devon delivery routes
- Previous experience in distribution or logistics
- Awareness of manual handling procedures
