Driver - Plant & Tool Division
The Role

As a Driver in GAP’s Plant & Tool Division, you’ll be at the heart of our operations, delivering essential equipment like diggers, dumpers, and power tools to construction, utilities, and infrastructure sites across the UK.
Your key responsibilities will include loading, delivering, and collecting equipment safely and professionally. You’ll often demonstrate equipment on-site, perform necessary checks, and ensure accurate paperwork is completed. From navigating busy city centres to rural routes, your role is vital in keeping projects running smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Deliver and collect plant equipment to/from customer sites, ensuring all paperwork is completed accurately (including damage checks, fuel levels, and obtaining authorised signatures)
- Start, test, and demonstrate machines on-site when requested
- Conduct daily vehicle checks and perform basic maintenance to maintain roadworthiness and safety
- Load and unload equipment securely using proper strapping and securing methods
- Tag damaged machines on return and place them correctly at depots
- Maintain a clean, tidy vehicle and assist with general depot duties
- Adhere to customer site Health & Safety regulations and use digital tachographs in compliance with legislation

About You
What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for reliable, safety-conscious, and customer-focused professionals with:
- Proven experience in driving roles, ideally delivering plant or equipment
- Full UK driving licence with Category C (HGV) entitlement—mandatory
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices
- Attention to detail and ability to manage paperwork accurately
- A professional, friendly approach when interacting with customers and colleagues
