HGV Class 2 Drivers (Night Shifts)

Job Opportunity: HGV / CAT C Drivers for Night Shifts in North West London Are you a professional Class 2 driver looking for a rewarding role which is making a real difference? We are currently looking for a dedicated HGV Class 2 driver to join our driving team. You will also have the opportunity to be working for London's only BCORP certified waste management company. First Mile is London's premier recycling service, collecting and recycling a range of waste from over 30,000 customers across the city. We are looking for a hard working driver with a passion for excellent customer service and creating a force for good. If this sounds like you, then this role is perfect! Responsibilities:

  • Starting and finishing your shift from our Operations Depot in North Acton
  • Driving our Class 2 vehicles around the city safely and professionally
  • Using our innovative app to follow the most efficient routes and mark off customer collections, making your round as smooth and easy to complete as possible
  • Collecting refuse bags and bins of various weights from clients.
  • Effectively communicating any issues on your round in a timely manner
  • Returning to the depot at the end of your shift. Shift Pattern
  • 4 days on, 2 days off continuously
  • Rounds typically start between 6pm and 9pm depending on the round you are assigned
  • Each shift is 10 hours of work, plus a 45 minute unpaid break
  • Overtime is available and is paid at your standard hourly rate based on your salary
  • A valid HGV UK driving license.
  • A standard UK driving license with no more than 6 points
  • Experience driving in a city, preferably London.
  • The right to work in the UK (British Passport or visa valid for at least 12 months from start date).
  • Good English language skills
  • Happy with carrying out a physical role which requires heavy lifting and time on feet
  • A passion for delivering excellent customer service and a strong work ethic
  • Experience working night shifts is desirable but not essential Joining First Mile comes with a range of benefits, including:
