Role Overview

We are recruiting an HGV Class 2 Hiab driver to join our AVS Wokingham team. This is a field-based, customer-facing role responsible for safely operating an HGV with Hiab to deliver materials to customers, load and unload on site using hydraulic lifting equipment, and represent the branch professionally. The successful candidate will be reliable, safety-conscious and committed to delivering excellent customer service while maintaining vehicle and equipment standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate an HGV Class 2 (Category C) vehicle fitted with a Hiab to deliver and collect materials to customers’ sites, ensuring safe loading, unloading and placement of products.
  • Carry out pre- and post-trip vehicle checks, report defects promptly and ensure all vehicle paperwork is completed accurately.
  • Safely operate the Hiab and any associated lifting attachments in accordance with training and certified procedures; ensure loads are lifted and positioned without risk to people, property or the vehicle.
  • Load and secure vehicle loads in line with statutory and company guidelines, using appropriate load restraint and manual handling techniques where required.
  • Deliver high standards of customer service on-site, communicating professionally with customers and representing the Wokingham branch positively.
  • Maintain accurate delivery records, collect signatures and proof of delivery, and update branch systems with delivery notes and any discrepancies.
  • Work with yard and branch colleagues to co-ordinate delivery schedules, report late or failed deliveries and assist with route planning as required.
  • Adhere to company health and safety policies, complete required risk assessments, follow safe working procedures and use PPE at all times.
  • Ensure cleanliness and basic maintenance of the vehicle and Hiab equipment, reporting faults and arranging servicing as necessary.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
