HGV Class 2 Multidrop Driver
HGV Class 2 Driver – Ambergate Site
Established in 1965, the Lockwood Group is a family-run business with over 400 employees across 8 UK sites. Our operations include UK haulage and storage, frozen food production, and co-packing solutions. We are now looking to recruit a HGV Class 2 Driver based at our Ambergate site.
Essential:
- HGV Class 2 licence (CPC-in-vehicle and CPC periodic training requirements preferred).
- Valid DigiTach card and understanding of Tachograph/WTD rules.
- Flexibility, motivation, and the ability to work independently.
Desirable (but not essential):
- Previous HGV driving experience.
- Strong geographical knowledge of local/regional routes.
We operate Monday to Friday with flexible working hours. Your minimum contract will be 44 hours per week at £13.80/hour (for completed weeks). Successfully meeting weekly targets could earn an additional driver incentive bonus of up to £200/month.

Key Responsibilities
- Complete general haulage operations, including multi-drop palletised deliveries/collections across our network.
- Operate electronic proof-of-delivery (POD) devices and conduct frequency-defected vehicle checks (full training provided).
- Maintain high standards of customer service while ensuring timely and accurate communication with the Transport Team.
- Deliver goods efficiently, safely, and in a professional manner.
- Adhere strictly to legislation and company policies, and report any working time discrepancies via the clocking system.
Requirements & Skills
- Reliability & Punctuality: Commitment to consistent, timely attendance and adherence to schedules.
- Communication: Excellent oral communication skills for customer service-facing interactions.
- Technology Proficiency: Willingness to upskill in electronic systems (e.g., POD devices, logbook solutions).
- Professional Approach: A tidy driving record with no serious HGV offences in the last 3 years.
