As a HGV Class 2 Night Driver based at London Gatwick you will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of in-flight catering supplies and equipment to aircraft and airport terminals, ensuring compliance with aviation safety, hygiene standards, and airside driving regulations. You will drive a designated route and have responsibility for catering and stripping aircraft.
Shifts: Rotating Nine and half hour Shifts, 5 on 3 off
Hours: Start times between 8:00 - 9:00pm, Finish times between 4.30 – 5.30am
Under Review: Shift from 17:30 - 04:00
Rate: £19.36 per hour
Overtime: 1.2 of hourly rate, after the completion of 173 hours each month
You must be flexible to work shifts as operations run seven days a week (including evenings and public holidays), you will be required to extend shifts depending on airside operational requirements.
Please note that as this position is in the aviation industry your offer would be subject to security clearance, this requires a 5-year employment reference check. If you are invited to an interview, we would request that you bring a copy of your HMRC employment history, tacho card and driver qualification card.
We are looking for candidates that can commit to this role on a long-term basis, as such candidates must have under four references and have the permanent, unrestricted right to work in the UK.

Role And Key Responsibilities
Drive HGV2 (Class 2) trucks on a designated route to transport catering trolleys, meals, beverages, and equipment to aircraft stands or airport terminals. Ensure that your Tacho is used correctly for every trip and in compliance with Road Traffic Regulations. Always make sure that the vehicle is maintained and refuelled i.e top-up screen wash, ad blue whilst carrying out inspections as standard security and safety protocol. Reporting any accident/hazards/near misses to your line manager. Load and unload catering on and off the truck in the designated area at the unit and aircraft in a safe and timely manner. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the loading areas and ensure the vehicle is security checked and sealed by an authorised staff member before departure with completed specified documentation. Good understanding of HACCP, COSHH, DDA and ensure compliance with Food Hygiene (ensure vehicle refrigeration is switched on), Health and Safety, DFT requirements. Work in accordance with airport, airline and Newrest requirements and safety procedures whilst adhering to airport, DVLA and local rules and or law. Drive on to aircraft as per your training, ensuring you do not deviate from it at any point.

Essential Requirements
Valid UK HGV Category C (Class 2) licence Valid CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) Digital Tachograph card. Experience in airline catering, logistics, or customer service. You will be a team player who can effectively manage conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment without sacrificing quality. You must be physically fit as you will be expected to lift and/or push up to 25kg. You will also need to be capable of working at heights, indoor fridge temperatures around 5 degrees, all outdoor weather conditions and fast-paced environments.
