HGV Class 2 Tanker Driver
Salary: £34,000 - £38,000 (dependent on experience), Hours: 45 hours per week with overtime available, Contract: Permanent opportunity with a brand-new tanker vehicle provided.
Pertemps are recruiting for a HGV Class 2 Tanker Driver to join a well-established and expanding wastewater solutions company with over 10 years of industry experience. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tanker driver seeking a long-term position within a supportive and growing business.
Working across domestic, commercial, and industrial sites, you will be responsible for servicing septic tanks, sewage treatment plants, and pumping stations while delivering a professional and customer-focused service. The business is investing in its fleet, with a brand-new lorry arriving at the end of August, which will be allocated to the successful candidate, making this a standout opportunity for an experienced driver looking for quality equipment and long-term stability.
Key Duties
- Operating a Class 2 tanker safely and efficiently across customer sites.
- Emptying septic tanks, sewage treatment plants, and pumping stations.
- Transporting and disposing of waste at authorised tipping facilities.
- Completing daily vehicle inspections and relevant paperwork.
- Ensuring compliance with Driver Hours and Tachograph regulations.
- Following health and safety procedures at all times.
- Working closely with service and installation teams to deliver excellent customer service.
- Maintaining a professional image and high standards of vehicle care.

What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a Tanker Driver is required.
- Valid Category C (Class 2) HGV licence.
- CPC Qualification Card and Digital Tachograph Card.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Good time-management and organisational abilities.
- Ability to work independently and use initiative when required.
- Basic wastewater industry knowledge would be advantageous.
- Flexible attitude to working hours and workload demands.
Working Hours
- 45 hours per week.
- Typical start times between 06:30 and 07:30.
- Average shifts are around 9 hours, depending on workload and route requirements.
- Monday to Friday - overtime available
- Saturday overtime available at premium rate (1.5x).
- Additional overtime opportunities available throughout the year.
