Overview
HGV Class C Driver
At Solus, all roles are critical in delivering quality repairs for our customers and keeping our workshops moving. As we continue to invest in our future and strengthen our operational capability, we’re looking for a HGV Class C driver.
This role is ideal for someone who understands the pace and pressure of an accident repair environment and takes pride in organisation, accuracy and supporting members of the wider team.
Responsibilities
What you’ll be doing
Our HGV drivers are kept busy in this role to get our customers back on the road quickly. We'd love you to bring your previous experience to this role. You will work within a team of other drivers reporting to your Transport Controller
As a Class C HGV Driver, we want you to bring your previous experience to the team. You will collect and deliver vehicles before and after repair, working to deadlines to meet our customer's needs.
This will include
- You will have responsibility for collecting and delivering cars within the agreed timescales, ensuring that the customer receives the very best possible service on collection and delivery of their car, ensuring all cash and credit card transactions are accounted for and that all transactions are processed following company procedures.
- You will complete forms to indicate any damage on the car and specify accident-related damage and highlight any old damage, take digital photographs - and gain a signature from the customer.
- You will highlight any defects identified during loading/unloading of vehicles or as identified at the handover of the vehicle to the customer and bring to the attention of the Production Manager.
- You will also ensure all jobs are referenced and filed on completion of job.

Qualifications
Who we’re looking for
All roles are at the heart of our business, and you'll need to be enthusiastic, upbeat and committed to delivering the best repair service. You would have previous experience in a similar role with the following skills
- You will have experience driving HGV class 2 vehicles and within recovery.
- You will be very customer-focused and have great customer handling skills.
