About the Role
We're seeking professional and dependable HGV Class 1 (C+E) Drivers to join our specialist transport operation based in Reading and Preston.
CTS operates where others can't - meaning this is a role for drivers who take pride in their professionalism and are looking for a different kind of drive.
Operating within a specialist environment, you will become part of a trusted team where safety, security, reliability and attention to detail are fundamental to everything we do. We are looking for drivers who can represent the business to the highest standards, work independently, adapt to changing operational requirements and consistently deliver excellent customer service.
What We Offer
In return, we offer a guaranteed salary based on a 50-hour working week, together with opportunities for scheduled and unscheduled overtime. Due to the nature of our operation, flexibility is essential and may include overnight stays, weekend working, early starts and late finishes.
We invest heavily in our drivers through structured training, professional qualifications and clear progression pathways. Whether you already hold ADR qualifications or are looking to further develop your skills, this role offers the opportunity to build a long-term career within a highly specialised transport operation where professionalism, trust and continuous development are highly valued.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
