HGV Class 2 Driver – Aylesford Depot
Position: HGV Class 2 Driver Location: Brakes Aylesford Depot Department: Supply Chain and Operations (Drivers and Operatives) Compensation: £43,622 plus annual bonus and overtime – realistic earnings circa £47,000 per year Hours: Monday – Friday, plus 1 in 4 Saturdays (overtime paid), 06:00 start
About the Role
Brakes is a leading UK food business and an integral part of Sysco – the world’s largest foodservice company. As we expand across the country and strive for excellence within the industry, the HGV Class 2 Driver at Aylesford Depot plays a crucial role in our operations. You’ll be a key member of the driving team, tasked with delivering a diverse range of ambient, chilled, and frozen products to customers across the local region.
The responsibilities include:
- Ensuring timely, safe, and high-quality delivery of products
- Maintaining accurate records and completing load plans
- Adhering to strict food hygiene standards
- Building positive relationships with colleagues and customers in a fast-paced environment
Responsibilities
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Transporting a wide variety of foodservice products securely and efficiently
- Operating an HGV Class 2 vehicle while maintaining professionalism and safety
- Following processes and procedures to ensure compliance with industry regulations
- Handling documentation, estimating delivery times, and updating dispatch systems
- Developing strong customer and colleague relationships to foster trust and collaboration

Requirements
To excel in this role, you should be:
- A qualified HGV Class 2 Driver with a valid CPC Card
- Passionate about customer service with a commitment to delivering exceptional standards
- Detail-oriented with an eye for consistency
- A strong communicator, with excellent people skills
- Compliant, organised, and capable of managing workload under calculated time pressures
- Flexible enough to accommodate a shift-based system, including occasional weekend work
