Join Our Team as an HGV Driver / Drainage Engineer
We are currently seeking experienced and motivated HGV 2 Drivers to join our growing team. This is a hands-on, varied role combining driving with drainage engineering, offering excellent earning potential, job security, and long-term career opportunities.

Working Hours
- Monday to Friday: 6:00am – 4:00pm (50-hour contracted week)
- Regular overtime opportunities, including evenings, nights, and weekends
- Flexible working structure:
- Can work up to 12 consecutive working days, followed by a mandatory 48-hour rest period
- Working pattern aligned to an 18/6 schedule (up to 18-hour shifts including breaks, followed by 6 hours required downtime)
Salary & Earning Potential
- £13.45 per hour (£34,970 basic annual salary)
- Overtime paid at £20.17 per hour (time and a half after 50 hours)
- Significant earning potential through overtime can be £3k-5k+ monthly take home. But is dependent on the overtime you wish to do:
- Example: 25 hours weekly overtime x £20.17 = £504.25 x 4 weeks in the month = £2017 - 20% Tax = £1613.60 on top of your normal basic take home monthly. (Please note that if you are to hit the higher tax threshold you would end up paying more tax)
- Night Work Bonus: £45 per shift
- Call-Out Bonuses:
- £30 per weekday
- £45 per weekend day

Key Responsibilities
- Operate specialist vehicles including jetting tankers, super suction tankers, and combination units (training provided)
- Respond to emergency callouts, including sewer blockages, flooding, and pollution incidents
- Work on both private and public land in line with health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Carry out vehicle checks at the start and end of each shift
- Accurately complete all job documentation
- Report defects, incidents, and near misses promptly
- Maintain driver logbooks in line with compliance requirements
- Ensure PPE is maintained and fit for use
- Keep vehicles and equipment clean, organised, and operational
- Attend training and support other teams when required

Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 2 licence
- CPC qualification
- Ability to work independently and follow remote instructions
- Professional and courteous when dealing with customers and the public
Desirable (Not Essential)
- Experience in drainage, liquid waste, or environmental services
- Street works or high-pressure water jetting experience
