Location: Haywards Heath, RH16 1UA
Working hours: 39 per week, Monday to Thursday, 7am – 3.30pm and Friday 7am – 2.30pm
Salary: £35,866 per annum / £17.68 per hour + excellent benefits

Join our Haywards Heath team as an HGV Refuse and Recycling Driver and play a vital role in keeping your community clean, safe, and sustainable.
Working alongside a professional and friendly team, you’ll deliver a full waste and recycling service to local residents and businesses. Your efforts will help maintain high standards across the community while providing excellent customer service every step of the way.
You’ll be entrusted to:
- Complete a pre-planned route as the driver, with your team of loaders, collecting waste and recycling from residential homes and commercial properties.
- Be the public face of Serco in the community.
- Ensure that your vehicle safety checks are completed and that your truck is clean and work ready, before setting off on your round
In our team, we all pitch in! As well as driving the lorry, you’ll work alongside our loaders too – staying active and helping to get things done quickly and efficiently.
You’ll be a great fit for this role if you...
- Hold a valid Class 1 or 2 driving licence and a Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)
- Are physically fit and healthy (this is a must, due to the nature of the work!)
- Are a dedicated, friendly and professional team player
- Are willing to go the extra mile on your rounds to help your team hit its targets
