Job Title: HGV Fabricator

Location: Widnes, UK

Salary: £18.54ph - £25.24ph

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent, Monday - Friday

Abbey Logistics is looking for a skilled and motivated Fabricator to join our busy workshop team in Widnes. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with fabrication and welding experience who takes pride in producing high-quality work while maintaining the highest safety standards.

The Role

As a Fabricator, you'll be responsible for carrying out a variety of fabrication and repair work on our fleet, ensuring all work is completed safely, accurately, and to a high standard.

Monday - Friday 0700-1700

Rate of pay:

  • Monday - Friday £18.54ph
  • Saturday £20.09ph
  • Sunday £25.24ph

Your duties will include:

  • Chassis repairs and structural fabrication.
  • General accident damage repairs on aluminium and stainless steel tankers and trailers.
  • MIG, TIG, and gas welding.
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and repair specifications.
  • Measuring, marking, and preparing materials for fabrication.
  • Ensuring all components are correctly fitted, aligned, and securely assembled.
  • Inspecting completed work to meet quality and safety standards.
  • Diagnosing and resolving fabrication issues.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
  • Working closely with the workshop team to meet repair schedules and minimise vehicle downtime.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in fabrication and welding.
  • Competent in MIG, TIG, and gas welding.
  • Able to work accurately from engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Safety conscious with excellent attention to detail.
  • Organised and able to manage workloads effectively.
  • A good team player with a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Confident using workshop equipment and fabrication tools.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Fabrication, welding, or engineering qualifications are desirable.
  • Welding certifications are advantageous but not essential.
  • Relevant hands-on experience will be considered in place of formal qualifications.
  • Additional industry certifications are welcomed.
