Together, the combined organization delivers integrated, efficient, and innovative infrastructure solutions while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfactionJob DescriptionHGV Grab Driver / OperativeCompany: Jones Lighting (Part of United Infrastructure) Location: Widnes Contract Type: Full-timeAbout the RoleJones Lighting is a well-established, family-run business and leading provider of street lighting solutions for local authorities.We are looking for an experienced, skilled, and reliable HGV Grab Driver / Reinstatement Specialist to join our team at our Widnes depot.Key ResponsibilitiesExcavation and Backfill: Safely manage materials using the Grab wagon, assist with manual backfilling and material movementHigh-Quality Reinstatement: Ensure precise reinstatement work and safe working around buried utility plant (cables, pipes, etc.)Safety Critical Work: Maintain safe operations near overhead electricity and telephone linesSite Management: Responsible for all Signing, Lighting, and Guarding (SLG) of work areasCompliance: Follow all Safe Systems of Work proceduresKey RequirementsFull HGV Licence with authorisation to operate Grab/Lorry Loader vehicleMinimum 1 year demonstrated experience operating a grab wagon (clamshell attachment preferred)Streetworks Qualification Units 1-7 (or equivalent)Current EUSR CSCS SHEA Power card (or equivalent for utility work)Full, clean driving licence (minor points considered)QualificationsDesirable QualificationsFirst Aid CertificateManual Handling CertificationAbrasive Wheels TrainingAdditional InformationWhy Join Us?Competitive & Transparent Pay: Experience-based hourly rateStability & Security: Permanent role with long-term career prospectsFamily-Run Environment: Supportive, close-knit teamCommitment to Safety: Comprehensive training and adherence to Safe Systems of Work
