Movie Makers provides specialist facility vehicles for the film and TV industry, supporting productions with reliable, purpose-built transport solutions. The company focuses on maintaining high standards of safety, performance, and comfort for cast and crew on location. Working closely with production teams, Movie Makers helps ensure that logistical needs are met efficiently and professionally. Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site HGV Mechanic role based in Iver. The HGV Mechanic will carry out routine servicing, inspections, and preventative maintenance on a fleet of heavy goods and specialist facility vehicles used in film and TV productions.

  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults
  • Perform repairs
  • Complete required documentation to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
  • Prepare vehicles for location work
  • Respond to breakdowns
  • Coordinate with operations staff to minimize downtime
  • Maintain a clean and organised workshop

Occasional flexible hours may be required to support production schedules.

Qualifications

  • Strong skills in Equipment Maintenance and Vehicle Maintenance for HGVs and specialist facility vehicles
  • Experience working with Heavy Equipment, including safe handling and operation in a workshop environment
  • Proficiency in Equipment Repair, including mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical systems
  • Effective Troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve complex vehicle issues promptly
  • Recognised HGV mechanic qualification or equivalent experience, with relevant certifications (e.g., NVQ or City & Guilds in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance)
  • Good understanding of roadworthiness standards, safety regulations, and MOT requirements for commercial vehicles
  • Ability to read technical manuals, use diagnostic tools, and maintain accurate service records
  • Strong attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Full, clean driving licence; HGV licence is an advantage
  • Previous experience in fleet maintenance or working with vehicles in a time-sensitive environment (film, TV, logistics, or similar) is beneficial.
