HGV Mobile Fitter/ Technician - DAYS
Owens Group is a fast developing, multi-site organization, with a large diverse customer base, making this an exciting opportunity.
Owens are looking to recruit an enthusiastic & conscientious HGV Mobile Fitter/ Technician to support our Droitwich operation.
Job Description
To maintain, inspect and repair Owens Group Vehicles/Trailers and equipment to prescribed standards in accordance with the Department for Transport, Manufacturer and Owens Group Operator Licence.
Location: Droitwich. Van Provided
Shift Patterns: 5 Days a week + extra shift overtime if available
Holidays: 28 days which includes the 8 statutory bank holidays
Specific Key Accountabilities
- To maintain, inspect and repair all Owens Group Vehicles/Trailers and equipment
- Out of hours call outs
- To attend Breakdowns on company vehicles/trailers and complete temporary/permanent repairs as required
- Prepare HGV vehicles/trailers for annual MOT inspections
- Carry out periodic safety inspections to all HGV vehicles/trailers to VOSA standards
- Carry out fault diagnosis on complex, hydraulic and electrical systems
- To carry out welding, fabrication and body repairs as required
- To prepare and decommission vehicles/trailers. Fitting and removing a range of ancillary equipment, accessories and livery.
- To complete all associated paperwork, to ensure all statistics and legal information are produced.
- To ensure all relevant Health & Safety procedures are adhered to.
- To maintain all work areas in a safe and clean condition
- To attend training courses as required to ensure skills are updated
- Carry out any other duties as required by the business.

Specific Qualifications/ Job Training

- Apprentice trainer and qualified to City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 in heavy vehicle mechanics, maintenance and report or equivalent.
- A clean driving licence is essential with a HGV Category C+E entitlement being advantageous but not essential
Specific Experience
- Knowledge of Maintenance equipment
- Knowledge of workshop health & safety procedures
- Knowledge of hydraulics & 12/24v electrical systems
- Be able to carry out work with the minimum of supervision.
- Effectively manage time and meet deadlines
- Good standard of written and verbal communication
Specific Skills
- Ability to diagnose/repair mechanical breakdowns
- Trained in IOSH working safely
