Waste Services Team – HGV Refuse and Recycling Driver/Loader (Permanent)

About the Team & Role
The Waste Services Team, operating from two Serco depots in Sudbury and Stowmarket, delivers 26 daily frontline collections, handling:
- Over 5 million collections per year
- Transporting and processing 65,000+ tonnes of waste and recycling
This role is based at the Stowmarket depot and provides a complete waste and recycling service for Stowmarket residents and businesses.
As an HGV Refuse and Recycling Driver/Loader, you will work alongside a dedicated team to keep the community clean, safe, and tidy while maintaining high levels of customer service.
Key Responsibilities
You will be tasked with:
- Driving pre-planned routes with Loader teams to collect waste and recycling from residential homes and commercial properties
- Serving as the public face of Serco’s Environmental Services in the community
- Ensuring vehicle safety checks are completed and maintaining vehicle cleanliness before shifts

Person Specification – Ideal Candidates
To excel in this role, you should:
- Hold a valid Class C driving licence (or C1 with Driver CPC)
- Be hardworking, physically fit, and healthy
