HGV Tanker Driver
HGV Class 2 Driver - Full-Time Wastewater Operative (North West, Based in York)
About the Role We are seeking HGV Class 2 drivers for a full-time Monday to Friday (47.5-hour) position across our wastewater contracts in the North West, working out of our York site.
The role involves operating a vacuum tanker, transferring various non-hazardous liquids from customer sites to disposal facilities. Routing and navigation guidance will be provided via phone.
Key Responsibilities
- Performing onsite work as part of a team
- Lone working in the tanker’s cab (road and shifting duties)
- Ensuring excellent time management
- Demonstrating flexibility in hours and ability to work overtime as required
- Conducting daily/general vehicle checks

Requirements
✔ HGV Class 1 licence (no more than 6 penalty points) ✔ Full UK driving licence ✔ Valid in-date CPC (desirable) ✔ Experience in tanker operations is advantageous (preferred) ✔ Full training provided
Conditions & Benefits
📍 Location: York 🕒 Hours: 47.5 hours/week (Monday–Friday) 💸 Salary: £15.50 per hour 🌙 Overtime:
- Time and a quarter over standard hours
- Time and a half on weekends 🚛 All driving training/mandatory courses provided by Lanes Group
